Bhim Army chief Chandrashekhar Azad’s ‘real’ name is Naseemuddin Khan. Azad took to Twitter to rubbish the viral post.

The tweet which has gained around 1,500 retweets and 2600 likes on Twitter states, “Bhim Army leader Chandrasekhar Ravan’s real name is Naseemuddin Khan. How many people knew this? This is a devious move by Muslims to divide Hindus”

In Hindi – “भीम आर्मी के नेता चंद्रशेखर रावण का असली नाम नसीमुद्दीन खान है! कितने लोगों को पता था ये? हिन्दुओं को तोडने की कुटिल मुस्लिम चाल.”

The false claim is also viral on Facebook with the same caption. A Facebook user named ‘Arun Kumar Shukla’ shared the claim in a post which has gained around 1,900 shares.

Bengaluru Ponzi Scam: IMA founder Mansoor Khan may have fled to Dubai on June 8

The police are looking into METT Travels, which they believe was the agency that helped Khan obtain his visa.

Karnataka News: Amidst allegations of defrauding over 32,000 people to the tune of Rs 1,700 crore, I Monetary Advisory (IMA), founder Mohammed Mansoor Khan is believed to have fled the country even before the company shut down.

Central Crime Branch (CCB) sources revealed that based on a tip off from the RBI, the sleuths had begun investigating Mansoor Khan’s financial dealing a week before he absconded. Documents being circulated on WhatsApp with the insignia of UAE Interior Ministry suggest that Mansoor Khan had fled the country on June 8.

CCB sources say that Mansoor Khan was summoned for questioning on June 6 based on directions of DG and IGP Neelamani Raju regarding possible fraudulent activities perpetrated by IMA. The Special Investigating Team (SIT) probing the financial scam believes that Mansoor Khan had prior knowledge about his arrest a month before the scam came to light.

“It seems he sketched out an elaborate plan. So far, his wife and two children aged 12 and 4 years are also nowhere to be found. Preliminary probe revealed that they may have fled Bengaluru in late February or early March. We are checking the veracity of the immigration document being circulated on WhatsApp. He had received the visa on May 5, which means he had planned the escape a month in advance,” an SIT source said.

Bank Fraud In FY18-19 at Rs 71500 cr, Reveals RBI

Increase in bank frauds add a new dent to Indian PSU banks, as they grapple with cases of wilful defaults and non-performing assets.

Fact Check News: Over 6800 cases of bank fraud were reported in FY 2018-2019, involving an amount of Rs. 71,500, revealed an RTI reply by the Reserve Bank of India.

In FY 2017-2018, the amount of bank fraud reported was Rs. 41,167 crore, suggesting a 74% rise between FY17-18 and FY18-19.

According to the Indian Penal Code, the following activities amount to bank fraud:

Misappropriation and criminal breach of trust
Fraudulent encashment through forged instruments, manipulation of books of account or through fictitious accounts and conversion of property.
Unauthorized credit facilities extended for reward or for illegal gratification.
Negligence and cash shortages.
Cheating and forgery.
Irregularities in foreign exchange transactions.
Any other type of fraud not coming under the specific heads as above.

The revelation from RBI came in reply to an RTI query filed by a PTI journalist.

NaMo TV Goes Off Air As Lok Sabha Elections Come To An End

NaMo TV was part of the BJP’s campaign for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and was in our lives for a limited period only.

Fact Check India: NaMo TV, a free-to-air BJP-sponsored channel that had appeared across several DTH providers in the run up to the Lok Sabha elections, has been taken off air as polling concluded.

On March 26, 2019, NaMo TV, which borrows Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s name and face, silently went on air across major direct-to-home (DTH) service providers like Tata Sky, DishTV, Siti Cable, d2h and Videocon.

While its initial release stirred up a controversy with regards to its ownership, BJP confirmed its affiliation to the channel three days after it went on air with a tweet.

Throughout the course of the Lok Sabha elections, the channel aired Modi’s rallies and speeches, along with films with patriotic overtones and a special broadcast of Finance Minister Arun Jaitley speaking about the achievements of the BJP. In between the rallies and movies, it also aired advertisements related to the BJP.

NaMo TV Reloaded

This was not the first time this channel had made an appearance on our television screens.

The image, which has been shared in a Bengali Facebook group named “Zakir Naik’s Supporters’ Group” has received more than 2500 reactions from users, who welcomed the move.

It has been captioned as, “Let Allah show him the road to Islam and let him be encouraged to embrace the religion. Ameen.”
