Fake News: तृणमूल कांग्रेस (टीएमसी) ने पश्चिम बंगाल के उत्तर 24 परगना निर्वाचन क्षेत्र के बशीरहाट से चुनाव लड़ने के लिए बंगाली अभिनेत्री और मॉडल नुसरत जहां को उम्मीदवार के रूप में नामित किया है। घोषणा के 24 घंटे के भीतर ही नुसरत जहां की फोटोशॉप की गई तस्वीर सोशल मीडिया पर वायरल हो रही है।

तस्वीर में टैटू के साथ शरीर वाली महिला के चेहरे को मॉर्फ कर नुसरत जहां का चेहरा लगाया गया है। और इसे बंगाली भाषा में अपमानजनक कैप्शन के साथ शेयर किया जा रहा है। बूम ने फैसला किया है कि हम इसका अनुवाद नहीं करेंगे।

एक सरसरी नज़र से पता चलता है कि, तस्वीर में जहां का सिर शरीर के बाकी हिस्सों की तुलना में बड़ा दिखाई देता है।

बूम ने एक रिवर्स इमेज सर्च किया और पाया कि टैटू वाली महिला की तस्वीर मूल रूप से एक मॉडल की है, जो indulgy.com नाम के वेबसाइट पर एक कैप्शन के साथ दिखाई देती है। कैप्शन में लिखा गया है, ‘इंकड गर्ल बाई जेनी’।

वेबसाइट ने तस्वीर के लिए tats-and-lingerie.blogspot.com को श्रेय दिया है।

फोटोशॉप्ड और मूल छवि का अंतर काफी स्पष्ट है। जिससे आप यहां देख सकते है|

Women’s unfair share of household work not just causes back pain, but worsens it

Women do majority of the work at home, which causes minor but repeated trauma to their back and neck. Instead of paying more attention to their pain, we ignore it.

Health News:The idea of ‘sharing the load’, that is men pitching in to do a lot more work at home when compared to their fathers, seems to have caught on in urban homes. The reality, however, is that women continue to do most of the household chores. A study by the OECD a few years ago found that in India, while the average woman spends close to six hours a day on household work apart from their day job, men don’t even clock in an hour.

The inherent gender bias in our homes puts the burden of keeping the family together and happy on women. This becomes evident when women develop back pain. What’s worse is that as a society, we ignore or downplay women’s pain.

For most women, pain is a lifelong affair, so they normalise it. They start suffering from pain at a very early stage, when they attain puberty and start getting periods.

“Many young women also carry heavy handbags, wear high heels for a long period of time or do excessive pelvic exercises which can damage the back muscles – all of which are bad for the back”.

“As they get older, majority of Indian women do bulk of the household chores, so when they get excessive pain, they simply assume that they can manage, not knowing that it can be harmful”

Trailer of Nayanthara’s ‘Kolaiyuthir Kaalam’ points to a supernatural thriller

Entertainment News: The makers of Kolaiyuthir Kaalam, lady superstar Nayanthara’s upcoming flick, released the trailer of the movie on Saturday. Directed by Chakri Toleti, the movie is a supernatural thriller and has Nayanthara playing the role of a person with a speech disability, stuck in a haunted villa.

The one minute 30 seconds long trailer takes us on a chilling ride through the bungalow where Nayanthara lives, far away in a foreign land. The trailer begins with the loud cry of a child, with a woman talking in English. Nayanthara is a new occupant at the bungalow and is seen exploring the huge palace, mysterious enough to set the mood of the movie.

The sequences are bereft of dialogues but manage to send a shiver down the spine with the recurring chatter between the child and the woman. The bungalow is typically ‘haunted’ – with a door that shuts by itself, dogs barking incessantly, trees swaying in the wind, spooky ghostly figures following Nayanthara…some scenes look like they’ve been taken straight out of an English horror thriller. The trailer ends with Nayanthara being punched to the floor and an eerie music playing in the background.

Kolaiyuthir Kaalam also has Bhoomika Chawala, Rohini Hattingadi and Malayalam actor Prathap Pothen playing pivotal roles. The cinematography of the film is done by Corey Geryak, while the editing is done by Rameshwar Bhagat.

Nayanthara also has Airaa lined up for release, which is again a horror thriller. The movie will feature the actor in two very diverse characters.

AR Rahman composes India anthem for ‘Avengers: Endgame’

The movie is all set to release worldwide on April 26.

Entertainment News: Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman has created India’s Marvel anthem for the release of Avengers: Endgame. The anthem will be released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

In a statement released by the ace music composer, he stated that Marvel India has teamed up with him for the track, which will be released on April 1.

“Being surrounded by Marvel fans in my own family, there was too much pressure to come with something really satisfying and apt for ‘Avengers: Endgame’. I hope Marvel aficionados and music lovers enjoy the track,” said Rahman.

There is much anticipation for Avengers: Endgame, especially after the success of Avengers: Infinity War. The movie will be the last instalment in the 22-movie series from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The two part Avengers series was announced in 2014, as a sequel to Age of Ultron.

The movie will show the work being done by the Avengers and their allies after the damage caused by Thanos in the previous instalment, Infinity War. The movie will have an ensemble cast including Robert Downey Jr, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Paul Rudd, Chris Evans, Chadwick Boseman and Bradley Cooper.

“If Indian Opposition Doesn’t Consider Masood Azhar A Terrorist, Why Should We?”: Did China Say This?

The false claim is viral on Facebook and WhatsApp with a photo collage of three pictures, China’s president Xi Jinping, Masood Azhar and an image of opposition leaders.

Fact Check: A viral post on social media claiming that “China has said in the United Nations (UN) that if the Indian Opposition does not consider Masood Azhar a terrorist why should they designate him a global terrorist” is false.

The claim is viral as part of a photo collage of three pictures, China’s president Xi Jinping on the left, Azhar on the right, and an image below of opposition leaders standing together and joining hands with the text in Hindi, “चीन ने UN में तर्क दिया कि अगर भारत का विपक्ष ही मसुद को आतंकी नहीं मानता तो हम कैसे मानें…”

FACT-CHECK

On March 13, 2019, China exercised its veto and blocked a proposal in the UN to designate Masood Azhar a global terrorist (Read more here)

Six-Year-Old Video Of A Mob Vandalising A Church In Egypt Revived After NZ Mosque Attack

The post claims that Muslims attacked a church in Pakistan retaliating against the Christchurch mosque shootings.

Fake News: A six-year-old video has gone viral on social media with a false narrative claiming ‘Islamists burned down a church in Pakistan’ in response to the Christchurch killings.

As many as 50 Muslims were killed by a right-wing extremist shooter as he went on a killing spree at two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand on March 15, 2019.

Fact Check

Running a reverse image search on video grabs from the post led BOOM to pages which carried news reports about a similar incident in Sohag city of Egypt in 2013 when a Coptic church was attacked was attacked by a mob.

We diversified our search with the help of different sets of keywords and found videos of the incident on YouTube as well.

The YouTube page of (MidEast Christian News) MCNDirect, a news agency in Middle East, shared a similar footage on August 29, 2013. The caption with the video reads: MCN shows scenes of burning and demolition of Sohag Diocese, with crowds breaking the cross.
